Deactivate Facebook Account

Via Desktop Website

1. Log In to Facebook

   • Open your web browser and go to facebook.com.
   • Enter your username and password to log in.

2. Access Settings & Privacy

   • Click on the downward arrow (or profile picture) in the top-right corner of the screen.
   • Select "Settings & privacy" from the dropdown menu.
   • Click on "Settings".

3. Go to Your Facebook Information

   • In the left-hand menu, click on "Your Facebook Information".

4. Select Deactivation and Deletion

   • Click on "Deactivation and Deletion".

5. Choose Deactivate Account

   • Select "Deactivate Account" and click "Continue to Account Deactivation".

6. Follow the Prompts

   • You may be asked to enter your password again for security reasons.
   • Follow the instructions to confirm the deactivation. You can also select options for why you are deactivating and adjust other settings.

7. Complete the Deactivation

   • Click "Deactivate" to finalize the process.

1. Open the Facebook App

   • Launch the Facebook app on your mobile device and log in if necessary.

2. Access the Menu

   • Tap on the three horizontal lines (or menu icon) in the bottom-right corner (iOS) or top-right corner (Android).

3. Go to Settings & Privacy

   • Scroll down and tap "Settings & privacy".
