In Resident Evil 4 Remake, Chapter 4 is an important part of the game where players come across a significant happening that involves Ashley Graham, the President’s daughter. The chapter includes a Leon S. Kennedy held captive sequence and his quest to find and rescue Ashley. However, not initiating the particular cutscene explaining about Ashley’s predicament in this chapter introduces something unique and slightly strange.
Normally, when Leon approaches a certain area in the game, it triggers off this cutscene; he finds out where Ashley is being kept and what he will face while trying to save her. Failing to trigger this cinematic scene due to player negligence or a bug leads to somewhat disconnected progress of the game. What might happen is that expected events as well as scripted sequences surrounding Ashley’s rescue do not follow up in order.
In such situations however, if you reach the door where Ashley is being held captive you may experience some sort of anomaly. For instance, there could be no sight of Ashley at her designated place which first appears like it would break the game completely. Nevertheless, when mods are applied or some conditions within the game have changed causing different series of events leading up to this poin
It is interesting to note that other than Ashley’s absence, several other elements of the game may still be normal. This means that the game’s item placement and environmental interaction mechanics could be different from those of cutscenes. However, the entire narrative could get distorted or not happen altogether although some of its subsystems might continue functioning.
To sum up, when Chapter 4 of Resident Evil 4 Remake does not activate an Ashley’s cutscene, then a situation arises whereby the expected narrative and events of the game do not play out as intended. When Ashley is not in her holding area it may seem like there is something wrong with the game but it can also be due to how mods interact with event triggers in games. Nevertheless, certain parts of the game such as environmental objects like gem stone and items might work properly indicating that while story and character interactions are influenced, core mechanics are kept intact within this framework.
